TIP: GREEN YOUR NURSERY
Children are most vulnerable to the toxins found in our mattresses, toys, wood furniture, paints, fabrics, rugs, and personal care products. Many contain hundreds of chemicals that have been linked to cancer and even ADHD. Only buy organic for baby's room including crib, mattress, bedding and curtains and use low VOC paints. The investment is worth it!

TIP: BABYWEARING IS THE ANSWER
When done safely, babywearing is a great way to bond with your new baby or toddler, clean, shop, and chase older children. The best slings are online, not in stores. I love ring slings, mei tais, and buckle carriers, which work front or back to carry kids up to 35 pounds. Try the forums at www.thebabywearer.com or view how-to videos on YouTube.

TIP: Eat Quinoa to Boost Milk Supply
This is a great tip for breastfeeding moms who want to reduce the amount of chemicals they ingest because what you eat, baby drinks. Animal proteins have especially high concentrations of environmental toxins, but eliminating animal protein can lower milk supply. The key is to eat organic quinoa, which is rich in protein and many other important nutrients. Adding lots of green juices with kale, spinach, celery, cucumber and wheat grass will help build milk supply as well.

TIP: Stinky Diaper Solution
When your baby has a really stinky diaper, don't use anything except Weleda's Calendula Diaper Cream. Not only does it work wonders on irritated skin and clear up a rash in a single diaper change, it makes your baby's bottom smell AMAZING!! Seriously, I use it even when my daughter needs a regular diaper change because it smells so good. It almost makes you not want to get serious about toilet training!

TIP: Help Your Baby Relax
If you really want your baby to relax, give her a bath in the sink and hold the water spout over her head to put her in a mellow mood.

TIP: To Soothe a Teething Tot
This is awesome for soothing a teething baby. I put my Weleda Children’s Tooth Gel on the Born Free Silicone Teething Ring and Gum Brush. While Charlie is chewing on it, he is brushing his own teeth and helping me out! How wonderful and easy is that? He loves it as well, and you won't be disappointed either. Did I mention you can put it in the fridge so it's nice cold for your baby’s sore gums? Calendula's healing properties go way back and it’s considered part of the marigold family. This oil is anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-fungal and it helps heal wounds. Great for new teeth and a teething babe. The whole Weleda Calendula line is absolutely lovely for baby.

TIP: Tame Unruly Toddler Curls
After you wash your toddler's hair (I recommend Weleda Baby Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash), rub a tiny bit of Weleda Baby Calendula Oil on the comb and it will instantly smooth all the frizz and release all the knots. A scream-free (and pain-free) "spa-session" for both of you!

TIP: BEWARE THE TAGLESS LABEL
Many moms look for tagless labels in the hopes of preventing an itchy rash on their baby's back. Unfortunately, painted labels pose much more of a risk because many are created using polyvinylchloride (PVC) which is commonly tainted with lead and other heavy metals as well as phthalates. Phthalates are most toxic to the endocrine system, wreaking havoc on the body's hormones, the main messengers from the brain to body organs. When possible, opt for clothing with fabric tags!

TIP: BANISH POSTPARTUM ACNE
You've spent months being pregnant, your body has been put through the wringer, and finally just when you thought it was over....you've been rewarded for all your efforts with pimples the size of Texas spreading from cheek to cheek. What's a mama to do? One drop of a tea tree essential oil placed on a cotton swab and applied directly to a pimple will not only zap that zit but it will also bring the glow of motherhood back on your face!
