Julia Angstenberger
Communications Intern
Weleda North America

Julia AngstenbergerMy love for Weleda products, and the positive experiences I’ve gathered with the company over the years, have brought me here, to Palisades, NY. I’m a German university student in my last throes; my focus is on American and Scandinavian studies, as well as cultural anthropology. Before finishing my studies next year, I wanted to gain some more experiences abroad, and I was excited to get the chance to work at Weleda North America, as an intern in the Communications department. I am looking forward to learning more about the world of Weleda and to blogging my experiences and sharing them with the Weleda Community.

Why Weleda? My fascination for the company has grown ever since I was a PR/Communications intern at Weleda Germany in 2006. I felt right away that Weleda is more than a business—it’s also a way of life. To me, it’s about people and our connection to nature—a relationship I think many of us are finding it harder to cultivate nowadays.

What fascinates me so much about Weleda is that it’s modern and traditional at the same time. In Germany, Weleda products have a long history and have always stood for high quality. More than that, I would even say they create a feeling of nostalgia for many Germans. When I mention to people there that I work for Weleda, their eyes begin to shine and they immediately start telling me all about their favorite products and how Weleda has been part of their family “forever.” It makes you feel so good!

As for me, my personal well-being favorites are the Iris Cleansing Lotion and, especially in the fall, the Sea Buckthorn Body Lotion and the Everon Lip Balm. What are yours?
