Ben is wonderful. He is 4 ½ years-old, sweet and very funny. He wants my attention always. We have a snack and read a picture book. Lately he is interested in the Greek myths. Medusa, the 12 labors of Hercules. It is easy to be fascinated with these stories.
To get a moment to myself I have a secret weapon so I don’t end up looking like Medusa: The Beauty Masque.
I choose Weleda’s Almond Facial Masque because it is soothing for sensitive skin. My skin is blotchy and sometimes dry. The masque is a beautiful saffron yellow color because of the carrot extract in it. The carotene in the carrot and natural plant ingredients is important to the health of skin.
I wash my face with Almond Cleansing Lotion then use the Wild Rose Facial Toner . Then, I put the masque on. It feels really great brushed on with a soft facial brush.
I’m doing this in the bathroom-and Ben hasn’t noticed my absence yet. He’s playing with his toys—knights and clashing swords. Whenever I put this masque on he doesn’t want to come near me. “Take that beauty masque off!”, he screams. An advantage when I want a little me time.
He doesn’t notice my bright yellow face as I sit on the couch and read a magazine. Soon I hear “Mommy!? Oh no you have a beauty masque on! You look like a monster! Ewhhh!”. I make like I am going to get him and he runs off, back to his toys.
Ahhh…a few blessed moments to myself. Eventually all good things come to an end. I wash it off with warm water and a washcloth, pat dry and put some Wild Rose Moisture Cream on. My face feels great. I had an oasis of peace in a busy day. Now back to the reality.
