You may have seen Juliette Branker in the advertisements for our Pomegranate Regenerating Body Care, and on our posters and brochures. In this guest blog, she shares her story about her life-changing experience modeling for Weleda and how she felt when she happened across her picture at Whole Foods in Manhattan!
I am the lucky woman who was chosen to be the face of Weleda’s Pomegranate Regenerating Body Care. My name is Juliette Branker, and I am 53 years young. I never knew how to act my age, and I never let it stop me from discovering this beautiful world that we live in.
I had just started my modeling career when I was chosen to be one of the models for Weleda’s pomegranate ad campaign. I have been fortunate to have landed several jobs since then. I’ve been to Kansas City to shoot a Hallmark Christmas ad; I’ve appeared on the Today show five times, modeling for Lucky magazine and once for InStyle; I appeared in O, The Oprah Magazine, Family Circle, AARP, Fitness and even in a Target ad. My first national TV commercial was for Edward Jones!
But the Weleda shoot is still my favorite and one of the most memorable. It was less like work for me and more like a “spa day!” The set was relaxed, stress-free and pleasant. Everything was light, loose and flowing, including my hair and clothes. The makeup was minimal, close to none. I felt so pampered! The makeup artist used Weleda moisturizers to give us a natural, glowing look. All day long I looked forward to the touch-up applications, because I loved feeling the wonderful creams on my skin and smelling them, too.
Weleda had promised to send us models a care package full of products, and they kept their word. I was very happy to receive my goodies when they came in the mail. I still use them and love them. My skin really glows!
Months after the shoot, I started looking in Whole Foods for the new Pomegranate Regenerating Body Care. My boyfriend and I were walking to the cashier one evening, groceries in hand, when we were stopped in our tracks. Together we discovered an entire end cap of just Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Care and … me! There I was on the posters and brochures. We were both in a state of ecstatic shock. We whipped out our cell phone cameras. I felt like Christmas had come early!
I decided that I had to take my Mom to see the display. So I brought her into Manhattan from Queens, where she lives, but I didn't tell her why we were shopping so far from home. When she saw my picture displayed so prominently on all the Weleda materials, the proudest glow came over her. Of course she had to take several pictures to mail to our family. Weleda made us all very happy.
