Meet THE COVERUP
We’ve all been there, standing in the middle of the drugstore aisle trying to decide which personal care item to purchase. With so many products to choose from how do you make the ‘right’ choice? And with quantity vs quality how do you determine what’s right for your skin? About two weeks ago I came across an email about a feature documentary (currently in development) called, THE COVERUP. This documentary that will “uncover” the personal and environmental effects of toxic chemical ingredients found in our everyday cosmetics and personal care products.   What makes THE COVERUP so special and unique is that...

Arnica provides relief to professional and recreational athletes during warm-up, competition and post-endurance, when the body is regenerating. The power of this radiant yellow plant lies in the 150 substances that make up its flowers. One key component, silicic acid, is...

How to Celebrate a Gluten-Free Holiday
The Holidays are upon us, and with it come celebrations, parties and all sorts of seasonal treats. For people with gluten sensitivities, this is not the easiest time of year to navigate. Gluten is a mixture of proteins that occur naturally in wheat, rye, barley and crossbreeds of these grains. In the U.S., 3 million people are estimated to suffer from Celiac Disease, where the body’s natural defenses react to gluten by attacking the lining of the small intestines, which can result in malabsorption and nutrient deficiencies. Up to 1 percent of the U.S. population might be gluten sensitive. The best treatment is to avoid gluten altogether...

Our Top Gifts for Kids, Weleda Style!
This year my almost-three-year-old, Bailey, is very excited for Christmas and for Santa to visit, so I’ve been making a list and checking it twice. Lately I’ve been reading a lot about how important imaginative play is for children, so I’d like to buy her a few things this holiday that will inspire her imagination, which is just starting to really bloom. I’m also trying to find items that are handcrafted, eco-friendly, and safe. If they are locally made or fair trade, even better. Here are a few things I’ve found so far. If you have any gift ideas to share, please leave a comment and let us know!  ...
