Weleda has earned certification from NaTrue, an international not-for-profit organization of natural and organic cosmetic manufacturers that aims to provide guidance and reassurance to consumers around the world by offering very strict, detailed standards for certification.

Demeter^® is a global organization and certifying agent for Biodynamic^® farms, processors and products. Their mission is to improve the health of the planet and its people. This purest approach to farming strictly bans all chemical pesticides and growth hormones, and ensures the quality, purity and potency of our ingredients. Our entire Biodynamic^® Medicinal Plant Gardens enjoy Demeter certification.

The German BDIH develops guidelines for Certified Natural Cosmetics and is a member of both the European Health Product Manufacturers Association (EHPM) and the German Federation of Food Law and Food Science (BLL). Products bearing the BDIH seal of approval must use natural, high-quality ingredients, obtained whenever possible from controlled organic cultivation or controlled organic wild collection. No organic-synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, ethoxylated raw materials, silicon, paraffin or other mineral oil derivatives may be used.

We produce every product according to the European Union (EU) Guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices, which regulate the quality of active ingredients and bulk goods. Our production is certified according to the EU-Eco-Regulation. All raw materials are free of GMOs, and the vast majority of the raw materials we use are from organic or Biodynamic® sources.

All Weleda oral care products, including mouthwashes, toothpastes and children’s tooth gels, are certified Kosher Parve, along with 52 skin care products.

This US coalition of nonprofit health and consumer organizations aims to protect consumer and worker health by phasing out chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects and other serious concerns and replacing them with safe alternatives. Signatory companies pledge to make personal care products that exceed EU safety standards and provide complete transparency to its customers regarding ingredients and product formulations.
